The team support the Trust in the development of the workforce’s capabilities, skills and competencies to remain successful and resilient. Strength in leadership and management is an important part of the Trust’s overall strategy. The team aims to provide access to training and learning to enable improvements in group and individual performance by increasing and honing skills and knowledge.

We can help you to access:

  • Nationally accredited apprenticeships
  • NHS Leadership development opportunities
  • Internally delivered workshops and masterclasses

We can help you to access nationally accredited apprenticeships delivered both internally at STRIVE @ Academic Centre in South Tees hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and externally through an external apprenticeship training provider.

Masters Leadership Development Opportunities

There are currently 2 options for Masters Leadership Development available through partnerships with the Trust:

1. In partnership with Teesside University we are able to access the MSc Global Leadership and Management in Healthcare.

2. Through a partnership with Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), part of the University of Manchester, we are offering staff the opportunity to complete a part time Level 7 postgraduate degree apprenticeship programme, MSc in Management Practice.

1. MSc Global Leadership and Management in Healthcare - Teesside University

In partnership with Teesside University we are able to access the MSc Global Leadership and Management in Healthcare, click here for further details on this apprenticeship levy funded course. Entry requirements state that you must have a 2:2 honours degree in a health related subject or in leadership or management.

Through a partnership with Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), part of the University of Manchester, we are offering staff the opportunity to complete a part time Level 7 postgraduate degree apprenticeship programme, MSc in Management Practice

Continuous Workforce Development (CWD)

Continuous workforce development is open to all staff

If you are intending to apply for any university course/external training (both CWD and Non-CWD) that is funded or supported by South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a Study Bond must be signed and approved at the time of your application.

This will apply to undergraduate and postgraduate courses irrespective of length, number of credits or funding stream.

Opportunities for funded learning

The trust has launched an exciting partnership with Learning Curve Group and has been awarded access to a suite of training courses enabling us to offer our staff new online qualifications.

These exciting courses will boost your knowledge, skills and may help you develop within your role, aiding your confidence by completing a nationally recognised qualification.

The courses are available to study online, with full support from a Learning Curve Tutor. There are a range of sector-based qualifications available that can be completed in as little as six weeks.
