Protopage is a new current awareness service provided by South Tees Hospitals library service. The library has created ‘portals’ (webpages) that contain information to help all members of staff keep-up-to-date.
The portals provide a dynamic web page (automatically updated) which present current information from a variety of internet resources (including journals) on a single page, along with help in assessing, presenting and utilising this information for work or study.

Keep up to date with the latest journal articles
Want to get an email when your favourite journals are updated or when new issues come out? The library has subcribed to a service called JournalTOCs which gives you access to the Table of contents (TOCS) of over twenty three thousand journals. The journals cover a huge range of topics including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacology, Business and Administration and Health and Safety. With JournalTOCs you can search, browse and follow journals so that you get an email listing the content for each new issue.
To register for the service, go to www.journaltocs.ac.uk and click on the "Sign In" option and choose the register as a new user option. All you need to provide is an email address (if you use your NHS.NET email address library staff can help administer your account). Once registered you can choose to have email alerts sent to your NHS.NET email address or your private/home email address.
Or use the easy alternative - contact the library (James Cook 01642 854820 or Friarage 01609 762525) and we can set it up for you and manage your JournalTOCs account!
